A Rewarding Career in Care at Connected Health

A career in homecare is widely recognised as one of the most rewarding professions. Ask anyone working in the sector and they’ll tell you it’s more than just a job, it’s a vocation. Many of our care assistants at Connected Health say they gain just as much from their role as they give.

Our care assistants play a vital role in supporting clients with their day-to-day living. This includes personal care, medication prompting and providing social support. Our goal is to help people live as independently as possible, safely and comfortably in their own homes. Our care assistants are at the heart of everything we do, which is why their wellbeing and job satisfaction matter so much to us.

To ensure this, we regularly carry out anonymous staff surveys to understand how our employees feel about their roles. In our most recent survey (July 2025), involving over 200 team members, the results were overwhelmingly positive. An impressive 91% said they enjoy their current role, while 97% described their work as both challenging and rewarding.

Working with Connected Health allows care assistants to develop a wide range of valuable skills, including the ability to remain calm under pressure, a strong understanding of basic healthcare and hygiene standards, excellent communication skills, respect for each individual client and their family, and sensitivity and tact in all situations. If you already have some of these qualities, you may have what it takes to become a care assistant with Connected Health. If the role sounds like something you would enjoy, you can learn more about what being a care assistant involves on our website.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the role is the meaningful relationships our care assistants build every day. As Maya, a care assistant based in Newtownabbey, explains:

“Being a care assistant in the community is incredibly rewarding. It’s more than just a job, it’s a chance to make a real difference in people’s lives every day. I love the connections I make with my clients, becoming a trusted part of their routine and providing comfort and support. Knowing that my work helps them maintain their independence and dignity in their own homes brings a deep sense of fulfilment.”

Why Choose a Career with Connected Health?

At Connected Health, we understand that a fulfilling career isn’t just about the role itself, it’s about the support, recognition, and rewards you receive along the way. That’s why we offer excellent pay rates, with care assistants able to earn up to £15 per hour.

Flexibility is another cornerstone of working with us. Whether you are seeking full-time hours or prefer part-time work, we can accommodate your schedule. To make your transition into our team even more exciting, we offer a £200 sign-on bonus for new care assistants. We also celebrate the hard work of our team through employee recognition awards, including Employee of the Month and Quarter, so that outstanding contributions never go unnoticed.

Our commitment to career development is just as strong. Connected Health offers clear pathways for progression, along with education and training opportunities to help you grow professionally. Additional benefits, such as the Cycle to Work Scheme, a wellbeing package, and a range of local business perks, ensure that our care assistants are supported both inside and outside of work.

Qualifications and Experience

While previous experience in care is desirable, it is not essential, full training is provided to ensure you feel confident in your role. Strong communication skills are important, so a good standard of English, both spoken and written, is required. Because care assistants travel to clients’ homes, a full driving licence and access to your own car are necessary. We also ask for flexibility, particularly the availability to work alternate weekends, so that we can continue providing excellent care to our clients.

If you are compassionate, reliable, and looking for a career where you can make a real difference, Connected Health could be the perfect fit. With full training, career progression opportunities, and a supportive team behind you, there’s never been a better time to start your journey in care.
