For 2023 we wanted to choose a charity that is close to our hearts that we can fundraise for throughout the year. We are pleased to announce that our charity for 2023 is Special Olympics Ireland.

To kick off our fundraising efforts we held our first fund raising event when 4 people completed the Barcelona Marathon sponsored by our supported living service – @LiveConnected. Live Connected is a Supported Living Service within the Connected Health Group which offers people the opportunity to live how they choose – in a home of their own or with other people.

Our team of Support Workers provide our service users with the type of support they need, 24/7 if necessary. We want each person we support to live in the least restrictive environment whilst continuing to be able to access on-going support with engagement of our full multi-disciplinary team.

Our COO Theresa Morrison, her husband Dennis and 2 sisters Laura and Jane travelled to Barcelona on 19th March to compete in the Barcelona Marathon. The team completed the marathon in very competitive times with everyone breaking the 4 hour window!

We celebrated this fantastic achievement when the team met with Sean Cassidy, Regional Director for Special Olympics  and Kate Pollack, a local volunteer fundraiser who has worked with Special Olympics for the last 30 years. They visited our head office in Boucher Road on Monday 3rd April to help us launch our new supported living service, Live Connected.

We have a sponsored walk planned for 10th June 2023 so keep an eye out for details of how you can join and support this fantastic cause. In the meantime if you would like to make a donation simply visit our Just Give Page
